OnePlus One handset already facing touchscreen issues

OnePlus One will launch in India this December

The upcoming OnePlus One, which claims to be the ‘2014 Flagship Killer’ smartphone, is already facing manufacturing issues.

A user registered by the name Vantt1 has posted several complaints regarding the touchscreen of OnePlus One. Vantt1 mentioned ‘Some touches aren’t being registered and double taps turned into single taps.’ However, OnePlus has addressed this issue as a ‘software bug’ and is working on fixing it soon.

Meanwhile, the user of the OnePlus One smartphone dismantled this handset and found out that this issue wasn’t the result of any software bug alone. On dismantling the OnePlus One device, Vantt1 noticed that the flexible digitizer connector is in direct contact with the metallic chasis.

He further observed that glue has been used between the chassis and the digitizer flex. He separated the digitzer connector from the metallic and replaced it with an insulating tape. This enabled better functionality of the touchscreen of OnePlus One.

After multiple hardware tests at the factory and troubleshooting with Synaptics and Cyanogen, OnePlus One stated that software update would be the best solution. At present, the company is still conducting several tests to find out id the user’s hypothesis is true or false.

'We believe that the user who managed to solve his issues by adding insulation to the area represents a very small minority of affected users', stated OnePlus One.
