Want to build Andhra Pradesh capital with Japan's expertise: Chandrababu Naidu

CM explained his plans to develop three mega cities and 14 smart cities in AP

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu invited Fuji Electric to conduct a feasibility study for a smart grid project in the state and also sought Japanese expertise to build AP's capital.

The Chief Minister's office quoted Fuji Electric in Kitakyushu city, where he visited on the third day of his trip to Japan, as saying that it will send its representatives to the state by December-January in this regard.

Smart grid monitors the consumption of energy and forecasts the demand for the next 24 hours to make energy management efficient. It also enables sharing of energy with other grids if the demand is less from one grid and more in others, officials said on Wednesday.

The Chief Minister explained his plans to develop three mega cities and 14 smart cities in Andhra Pradesh and sought Fuji Electric's help in building these.

In Fukuoka city, where he visited the waste management site, Naidu expressed his desire to build a capital city for his state with Japan's expertise and incorporating best practices into it.

"I want to build the capital on both sides of the Krishna river," he said.

The Chief Minister and his team also visited the San-no storm water reservoir site for flood-control management.

Given that Fukuoka is a pioneer in using reclaimed water and has very low water leakage in their water supply system, Andhra Pradesh is exploring a possibility of seeking Japan's support in building a water grid, Naidu added.
