Congress gets clean chit in MyHome land allocations issue

Land registration took place after TRS came: Congress

Hyderabad: Telangana Assembly Speaker S. Madhusudhan Chary on Monday directed the government to place the files pertaining to the DLF and My Home land allocations in the House for others’ perusal.

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao gave a clean chit to the previous Congress government stating it had not committed any irregularities in the DLF and My Home land allocations issue.

Congress MLA Bhatti Vikramarka said the government had washed its hands off the matter, though the actual allocation and registration was done after the TRS government formation.

“The Chief Minister has made some sweeping remarks. But, he should answer whether there is loss to the exchequer due to these land allocations. Actual registration of alternate land was done by the TRS government only,” Mr Bhatti Vikramarka said.

He stated that the orders were issued on July 19 and sale deed registration was carried out on August 1.

“But, you said everything was done by the previous government,” he said. Mr Vikramarka also advised Chandrasekhar Rao to talk with restraint as the Leader of the House.

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, in turn, remarked that he would follow Bhatti Vikramarka’s advice since it would be beneficial for his future.

“I never said the Congress government had committed mistakes. I just put forth the timeline of the events in the issue.

There is no loss to the exchequer. I am ready to withdraw any statements that may have hurt you,” said Mr Rao.

When the discussion was about to be closed, Telugu Desam leader A. Revanth Reddy started speaking.

However, the Speaker closed the discussion. and ruled that the note files pertaining to the matter should be placed in the House for the perusal of other members.

Speaking to the reporters later, Mr Revanth Reddy said he still maintains his allegations that land allocations to J. Rameshwara Rao’s constructions had caused loss to the tune of Rs 253 crores.

“A probe should be ordered into the issue. The master plan was changed for benefit of the company,” he said.
