PM Modi reaches out to Opposition, says all in Parliament have responsibility of running the country

The government hopes for a fruitful Winter Session

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday specified that everyone who sits in the Parliament has a responsibility.

“I have full faith that the winter session of Parliament will be fruitful,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi told reporters on his way into the Parliament.

“People have given us the huge mandate of running the government. In the cold weather, with a cool mind we have to do a lot of work," he added.

Modi praised the Opposition for the positive role it played in the smooth functioning of Parliament in the last session.

"In the last session, because of the positive role played by the Opposition, a lot of work was done. I hope this time it will be the same," said PM Modi.

Both Houses of Parliament have been adjourned on Monday following the death of Rajya Sabha member Murli Deora. Another parliamentarian had died in October.

The Winter Session of Parliament was set to begin on Monday, with several Opposition parties deciding to oppose the Insurance Bill and corner the government on black money issue.
