No one can silence me: Mamata Banerjee dares Centre on President's rule

'Just because I went to Delhi to attend a conclave of secular parties, they took revenge'

Kolkata: Launching an all-out attack on the BJP, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday stood beside her Rajya Sabha MP Srinjoy Bose, who was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation on Friday in the Saradha scam, and said his arrest was the result of her participation in the 125th birth anniversary programme of Jawaharlal Nehru in New Delhi.

Ms Banerjee also dared the BJP-led NDA government to impose President’s Rule (Article 356) in the state. “Just because I went to New Delhi to attend a conclave of secular parties, they took revenge by arresting our MP.

I accept this challenge and I will attend such programmes for secularism a hundred and a thousand times. If they want to send me to jail, let them do it. I will see to it. I will see how big a jail is there,” Ms Banerjee said while addressing a party workers’ meeting at Netaji Indoor Stadium.
