GK Vasan takes exception to Karti’s remark

Mr Vasan asked how those who hesitate to utter Kamaraj’s name can form Kamaraj rule
PUDUKKOTTAI: Former Union minister G.K. Vasan, all set to launch a new party, took strong exception to the remarks of Congress party’s national executive committee member and son of former Union minister P. Chidambaram, Karti Chidambaram’s regarding late CM K. Kamaraj and said without mentioning Kamarajar’s name, none can form a Congress government in TN.
Addressing a media conference here on Friday, Mr Vasan asked how those who hesitate to utter Kamaraj’s name and to use his portrait, can form Kamaraj rule in the state.
His new party will not extend support to any banned organisations on the soil of the country, he said, and wanted that Central and state governments should take all kinds of precautionary measures to check the activities of such banned organisations.
He urged the Central and state governments to fulfil the long-pending demand of the people of Pudukkottai district to establish a hospital with the all facilities like the AIIMS in New Delhi. He said all political parties had a share in the release of the five fishermen from Sri Lanka.
