Board posts for cadre: G Parameshwar wins this round

Congress' central leadership threw its weight behind KPCC president Dr G. Parameshwar
Bengaluru: In what could be perceived as a major setback for Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said to be seeking to shore up support within the party the Congress' central leadership threw its weight behind KPCC president Dr G. Parameshwar and decided to nominate only party workers to state-run boards and corporations.
GP's winning argument was that strengthening the party by recognising the contributions of “party workers” over that of legislators or defeated MLAs while making appointments to state run boards and corporations would be more beneficial in the long run.
The strategy has the backing of Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi, who believes it will contribute towards the revival of the party over the next five years.
