CM to visit Delhi to finalise corporation post aspirants

KPCC president get the stamp of approval for the list from central leaders
Bengaluru: Is the wait finally getting over for board and corporation post aspirants? The indications seem to be so with KPCC president Dr G. Parameshwar on Wednesday disclosing that he along with Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah will go to New Delhi on Thursday to finalise the list of candidates to be nominated to these powerful state run bodies.
Speaking to reporters after participating in a function organised by the party to pay tribute to late Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi, Dr Parameshwar said they would get the stamp of approval for the list from central leaders.
“There is a demand from both MLAs and defeated poll candidates too. But this issue have to be resolved at Delhi as they have laid out the condition that no post should be given to sitting or defeated legislators,” he claimed and adding that both leaders would try their best to convince central leaders about accommodating leaders from these groups too. In response to a question, Dr Parameshwar said they (the CM and him) had agreed to fill the chairman and vice-chairman posts with those who had toiled for the party.
“We cannot take a final call here on whether to accommodate legislators and defeated legislators or not. This issue will have to be decided in the presence of party central leaders. However, we will try our best to convince them about the pros and cons of not accommodating sitting legislators and defeated candidates. Both of us will abide by what party central leaders finally tell us to do,” he explained.
Earlier, Dr Parameshwar dropped enough hints that the delay in completing the exercise of finalising names for boards and corporations was creatd by Mr Siddaramaiah himself. Reason: The Siddaramaiah camp in the Congress party has reportedly unleashed a campaign against Dr Parameshwar claiming that it was he who had derailed the selection process. They were partly successful in putting the blame for the delay on Dr Parameshwar for the last couple of months.
At the event, Dr Parameshwar said, “At last Mr Siddaramaiah seems to have made up his mind to fill all those vacancies, which you (workers) have been eyeing for a while now. I was never the stumbling block in carrying out this exercise.”
