Hyderabad: The Amenities Committee on Tuesday decided to take some more time before rushing with doubling the salaries and allowances for the legislators of both the Assembly and the legislative council, as decided by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.
Some opposition members opined that in view of the power and water shortage in the state, it is not the right time for the allowance rise. It was decided that the salary structure of the MLAs at other states will be studied.
