Voice of India with a soul!

2014 has been super successful for playback singer Mohammed Irfan

His voice streams out soul, pain, romance, softness, depth and a plethora of emotions to tug in at the heartstrings. Talk of success and here comes a reference point for all his listeners to remember until the awards season begins soon. For playback singer Mohammed Irfan began this year with the love-ballad Baarish and then touched every sensitive mind with his soul-stirring Dard Dilo Ke only to further heighten the graph with a heart-warming Banjaare, the slow unplugged version of Muskurane and now looks all set to climax the joyride with composers Himesh Reshammiya and Krsna’s (of Tanu Weds Manu fame) songs. By his own admission, the affable artiste rattles of: “So far, 2014 has been the best year for me. Am really thankful to God for his blessings.” But the 30-year-old by no means fancies to taking this ‘purple patch phase’ easily. For deep down he knows well that any chink of complacency can topple his boat afloat.

Eyeing a big pie of the playback chart in the coming year too, Irfan’s calendar seems to be already blocked as of now. “Hopefully, 2015 will be another exciting period for me,” he enthuses elatedly. Besides lending his vocals for a slew of movies, Irfan will be busy with stage shows. “I’ll be part of Mithoon’s concerts scheduled in December across three Indian cities. This apart, I’ll accompany Himeshji to his forthcoming international (Kuwait) tour,” he declares. Sharing a cordial rapport with the melody-maker Mithoon, Irfan remained an integral part of the tunesmith’s entourage to Abu Dhabi earlier in June this year. While Ahmedabad and Indore have been fixed as two other venues out of the three stations, the third one is yet to be finalised.
