CM K Chandrasekhar Rao not to go easy on Telugu Desam

KCR is in no mood to withdraw suspension of 10 Telugu Desam MLAs
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is in no mood to withdraw suspension of 10 Telugu Desam MLAs over Revanth Reddy’s “false” allegation against TRS MP K. Kavitha in the Assembly and misleading the House over the power issue.
Sources in the TRS and other Opposition parties told this newspaper that a breakthrough is expected on Monday. BJP Floor leader Dr K. Laxman who met the CM and requested to withdraw suspension of TD MLAs was curtly told that TD MLA must apologise.
Similarly, Leader of Opposition K. Jana Reddy, TD MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah and others urged Speaker Madhusudhana Chary and the CM to withdraw suspension, but got no assurance.
The 10 Telugu Desam legislators were suspended from Assembly for a week for stalling proceedings and Revanth Reddy allegedly levelled false allegations against Kavitha and claimed that Telangana got its due share of power and said the TRS government’s charges against AP were false.
Irrigation and legislative affairs minister T. Harish Rao said the suspension would be withdrawn if Revanth Reddy tenders an apology. “Opposition parties have requested us to withdraw suspension. I request them to tell Revanth Reddy to apologise. The matter will be over,” he remarked.
Dr Laxman said though he had requested the Chief Minister, the latter was unmoved.
He is upset with certain comments made by Telugu Desam legislators against TRS MLAs besides the Revanth Reddy episode.
I feel if Revanth Reddy committed a mistake, he should accept it honourably. Mistakes do happen and one should not be rigid on their stands, he said. Earlier, the Assembly witnessed heated arguments between BJP MLA Kishan Reddy and Harish Rao over suspension of TD legislators.
Interestingly, suspended Telugu Desam Ibrahimpatnam MLA Manchireddy Kishan Reddy shared dias with Chief Minister at the civic reception hosted by CM in honour of newly appointed Union Minster of State for Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya.
Revanth Reddy too struck to his ground and asserted he would not apologise come what may. I am being targeted for questioning the government. It is also trying to tarnish my image using a woman. They are spreading false rumours against me involving women, he said.
