'Game of Thrones' is a gift: Natalie Dormer

"There's really good, serious, compassionate and interesting writing, but also they are commercially viable"

London: Actress Natalie Dormer has described her role as Margaery Tyrell in Game of Thrones as "a gift". Dormer, 32, said that she relishes playing Game of Thrones's Queen Margaery, reported Digital Spy "Margaery is queen - she's queen now! Finally she's queen. It's just a gift to be a part of The Hunger Games and Game of Thrones - two of the biggest phenomenons in the entertainment industry," she said.

"There's really good, serious, compassionate and interesting writing, but also they are commercially viable. For me, that's when you've struck gold as an actor. It's something that sends messages and is really emotionally and humanly compelling. Also, it's popular! That's the golden formula that we're all looking for," Dormer added.

Dormer is joining the 'Hunger Games' franchise as the charismatic rebel Cressida, who teams up with Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) to free the people of Panem. 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay-Part 1' opens on November 20 in the UK and on November 21 in the US. 'Game of Thrones' returns next year.
