Common High Court has power over Andhra Pradesh

No need to administer separate oath, says HC
Hyderabad: A division bench comprising Chief Justice Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta and Justice P.V. Sanjay Kumar of the Hyderabad High Court on Wednesday declared the Common High Court at Hyderabad has definite jurisdiction over the newly formed state of Telangana and residuary state of AP.
While delivering the final verdict on crucial questions that were raised while hearing of a contempt case by a single judge soon after formation of Telangana, the bench held that there was no need of administering oath separately by judges appointed in erstwhile AP High Court to discharge their duties as judges of the Common High Court.
As stipulated by the AP Reorganisation Act, till the formation of a separate High Court for AP, both the states are under the territorial jurisdiction of the common high court and it is a statutory obligation on both the states and its executives to oblige and implement the orders passed by the common court.
