In Singapore, Chandrababu Naidu aims to lure foreign investments

Naidu will hold business conferences and meet industrial heads regarding investments

Singapore: Seeking to attract foreign investment in his state, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has reached Singapore for a three-day visit during which he will meet senior government officials and top business leaders.

Naidu is leading a 13-member high-level delegation to the country, including senior officials from the Andhra Pradesh government and a business delegation.

This is Naidu's first foreign visit since he became Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for the second time this year.

During his three-day visit, the Chief Minister will participate as special guest at the annual South Asian Conference and deliver the keynote address in the meeting.

Naidu will hold business conferences and meet industrial heads to seek investments, state government officials said.

The Chief Minister will call on Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong tomorrow morning while Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Tharman Shanmugaratnam will host Naidu to dinner.

He will also visit the Centre for Liveable Cities, Land Transport Authority, Housing Development Board, Port Authority of Singapore, Jurong Town Council, Institute of

Technical Education, Urban Redevelopment Authority and the Building and Construction Authority, as well as participate in a CEO Breakfast round-table organised by International Enterprise Singapore.

Former Prime Minister of Singapore Goh Chok Tong, during his visit to the state on September 8, had extended invitation to Naidu to visit the city-state, while saying that Singapore was interested in investing in ports, airports, tourism and industrial sector in Andhra Pradesh.

Singapore has also offered assistance for the construction of the new capital, besides developing 'smart cities'. Among other things, Naidu and his team will inspect the waste-water treatment system in Singapore which the government wants to bring to Andhra Pradesh, official sources said.
