Use e-commerce to sell to world, PM Narendra Modi tells weavers

Caste and class differences will melt away and a sense of togetherness will grow

Lucknow: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Friday that all villages should celebrate their birthdays. “Birthdays are an occasion for people to come together and celebrate.

If we can celebrate the birthdays of all members of our family, then why not the birthday of our own village?” he asked.

Mr Modi, addressing the people of Jayapur village in Varanasi, which he has adopted under the “Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana” on Friday, said every village must have been born some day.

“If you do not get details from the government records, the village elders can sit together and decide on a date when they will celebrate the village birthday.

On this day, you can clean the village, organise a function where everyone will sit together and celebrate. Caste and class differences will melt away and a sense of togetherness will grow,” the Prime Minister said.
