Leaders of Haryana, Maharashtra, Bihar to join Team Modi

The TDP has also been asked to give the name of its leader for the expansion

New Delhi: Ensuring regional balance and also rewarding leaders from Maharashtra and Haryana, where the BJP a big win in the recent Assembly elections, Prime Minister Narednra Modi is expected to accommodate a few leaders from these two states in his council of ministers. Even Bihar, where elections are due next year, could get more representation.

The Shiv Sena, which was asked to give two names who could be included in the council, has apparently told the BJP leadership to first sort out the Maharashtra Cabinet issue.

The Shiv Sena wants a few leaders to be inducted into the Maharashtra Cabinet before next week’s trust vote; but the BJP has refused it, and also the Sena’s demand for the deputy chief ministership and some key portfolios of its choice.

The TDP has also been asked to give the name of its leader for the expansion that will take place on Sunday, at around 1 pm.

Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, who is likely to get the defence portfolio, is expected to file his nomination for the Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh on Monday.
