CM N. Chandrababu Naidu promised to rescue the farmers of Chittoor district
kurabalakota (chittoor): Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu promised to rescue the farmers of Chittoor district by declaring the district as drought hit.He was addressing a public meeting organised at Angallu village in Kurabalakota mandal as part of Janmabhoomi-Mana Vooru programme on Wednesday. Assuring to take steps to make farming as profitable activity, he hinted about converting Chittoor district as Horticulture hub. He stressed the need for facilities to store rainwater and make judicious use of every drop of water.
The CM underlined the need to enhance milk procurement in the district from present 22 lakh liters to 50 lakh liters.
To achieve this, cattle hostels will be built with facilities to house 400 cattle feed. The hostels will have room for storing the cattle feed including hay-stack and a biogas plant.
The activity is certain to provide employment and also profit to those managing them, the Chief Minister claimed.
“We have been providing pension to 4 lakh people in the district. As part of loan waiver scheme, Rs10,000 will be paid for every self help group member. Power to the farm sector will be enhanced to 9 hours from present 7 hours in future and steps are being taken to offer power round the clock for domestic consumers” the CM said He indicated to the plans to lay a road from Bengaluru to Anantapur and ring roads for Mad-anapalle, Palamaneru and Kupam. He ridiculed the TRS leaders for blaming him over power crisis in Telangana. The TD chief announced sops to the Tamballapalli constituency.
They include 30 bedded hospital for B. Kottakota mandal besides a degree college. '10 crore pacakage for Tomato farmers and a grid connecting Handri-Neeva project to provide drinking water to all the mandals.
