Hyderabad: According to a source, the makers want to rope in a big actor to play Allu Arjun’s father in his forthcoming film being directed by Trivikram.
“The film-makers wanted to get actors from different industries. Upendra is from Kannada and he is already there in the film (playing a different character); they met Mammootty and Mohan Lal for the father’s character but nothing has been finalised yet,” says the source.
While Mammootty has been ruled out, the makers’ hopes are now on Mohan Lal.
Sources from the unit say that they may also approach Amitabh Bachchan for the character as the role is short, but very important. “The director wants an actor of big stature to play Allu Arjun’s father and is thus looking for different options,” adds a source. Veteran actor Rajendra Prasad and Rao Ramesh are already playing key characters in the film.
