Ram Slam for West Indian stars

Players to take part in the South African domestic T20 competition
Johannesburg: Having endured tough times after their pull-out from the tour of India, the West Indian cricketers finally have something to cheer about as a number of them have signed up to represent the local teams in the South African domestic T20 competition – Ram Slam.
Big names like Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard, Dwayne Bravo and Darren Sammy will all be in action in the T20 extravaganza.
Tournament Director, and former Proteas skipper, Graeme Smith said: “I am delighted to announce that our Franchises have recruited some of the world’s best T20 players.”
“In my discussions with all the super stars it has been satisfying to note their eagerness to play in the Ram Slam as they regard South Africa as one of the best cricket Leagues in the world,” he was quoted as saying in the SuperSport.
South African born Craig Kieswetter, who plays county cricket for Somerset and has represented England, will play for the Warriors. The overseas players would be available for the entire competition with the exception of Bravo who would miss the opening game on Sunday.
