Woman consumes acid after husband refuses to take her to watch 'Happy New Year'

Mumbai: A 21-year-old married woman allegedly consumed acid after her husband reportedly refused to take her to watch the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer ‘Happy New Year’.
The incident took place at Khaniya Dana, north of Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. She is currently in a very critical condition as her internal organs were burnt due to the acid, reports stated.
Neha Sen asked her husband Vishal to take her to a local theatre to watch the new Diwali release but he refused, saying there would be a huge crowd and left without her to catch the film. This provoked her to consume the acid.
She was then rushed to the nearest hospital and after recording her statement she was shifted to Gwalior hospital.
The police are still looking into the case.
