Hyderabad doctor receives award for alternative therapy

She was awarded with Central Army Wives Welfare Association
Hyderabad: Dr Bhagyashree P. Naik, a Hyderabad-based physician, has received an award from the Central Army Wives Welfare Association for using Su-Jok, an alternative medicine therapy, to treat neurological disorders and lifestyle diseases.
Su Jok involves using specified seeds, certain colours, magnets and needles on the patients’ hands, palms and feet. The therapy does not need medicines or injections. Su Jok is a South Korean therapy developed by Dr Park Jae Woo, where the palm and the foot represent all the organs/meridians in the body.
According to the citation, Dr Naik has treated patients with neurological disorders, paralysis, white patches, vitilego, diabetes, hypertension and infertility. Her husband, Lt.Col. P. S. Naik, is currently posted in Hyderabad. At his earlier posting in Tezu in Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh, she treated 500 people with this self-healing technique.
Dr Naik secured membership of the International Su Jok Academy in Moscow in 2009. She was registered by the Indian Board of Alternative Medicine in Kolkata in 2010.
