Hyderabad: Rajamouli’s father, Vijayendra Prasad, has been having trouble finding a lead actress for a rather ‘strange’ script. In fact, his search has now lasted months with many Tollywood actresses choosing to opt out.
And it has now been revealed that the reluctance is because of several ‘nude scenes’ the writer has included in the script... scenes actresses are currently uncomfortable with.
So ‘bold’ is the script that Vijayendra Prasad is even planning to send his film to the Censor’s office in Mumbai, instead of letting the very conservative Hyderabad office deal with it.
“If this film gets the green signal, it will be the first Telugu film showing a female lead in the nude. Actually, there are quite a few A-rated scenes in the movie, which is why it’s taking so long for him to find an actress,” a source revealed.
There are rumours doing the rounds that the film’s makers considered Australian model and actress Kristina Akheeva, of Galipatam fame, as the script demands a “foreigner”. However, there has been no official confirmation from Akheeva’s reps.
Vijayendra Prasad is one of the industry’s most famous writers who has delivered several stunning hits including all of Rajamouli’s films. He is seemingly frustrated with the hunt and has blasted claims that one Shilpi Sharma had agreed to come on board.
“It’s totally wrong. I don’t even know who she is and I’ve frankly never heard of her. I am still searching for the female lead,” he told DC.
The source added that the veteran is confident censors in Mumbai will pass his film. “He is already planning to apply for a certificate in Mumbai. Because there’s no way officials in Hyderabad will say yes to that movie.”
