Ram Gopal Varma's girl now enters Kollywood

Anaika is excited about making her debut in Kollywood

Mumbai girl Anaika Soti, the discovery of Ram Gopal Varma, made her debut as the female lead in the bilingual, Satya 2. Now, the actress is even more excited about making her debut in Kollywood with the period flick, Kaaviya Thalaivan.

Anaika, who plays a princess in the movie, says that she had to create songs with her Tamil dialogues to memorise the lines. “The language was, of course, a great challenge for me,” she says, “and that too, the Tamil that was spoken decades ago was completely alien to me. I find the Tamil spoken today more easy to understand. But thankfully, I’m good at learning by rote and I could somehow pull it off.”

Anaika, who looks up to RGV as her mentor, thinks he belongs to a different class of film-makers. “He always speaks about films and has a different outlook towards it. I’m doing one more movie with him soon. It’s a love story,” she says.

Her role opposite Siddharth in Kaaviya Thalaivan was a “learning experience During the shoot, he fell from a height and it happened while both of us were looking at each other from a short distance. I was taken aback by this. What amazed me was that he immediately stood up and finished the scene effortlessly,” Anaika says.
