Police to build memorials of martyrs at their natives

Foundation stones for the memorials will be laid in Gangadhara and Dhramaram mandals
Karimnagar: The police department will erect memorials of martyrs, who were killed by Maoists, in their native places in order to commemorate their sacrifices. Foundation stones for the memorials will be laid in Gangadhara and Dhramaram mandals, on the occasion of Police Martyrs Day to be observed on October 21 (Tuesday).
SP V. Shiva Kumar said the department would erect memorials of the martyrs in their native places. In addition, a building will be constructed on the premises of the police headquarters to facilitate kin of the martyrs hold meetings, he added.
P. Kusuma Kumari, district president of Police Martyrs Association (PMA), hailed the department for the proposal. "Future generations will be able to know about martyrs through memorials.”
