Bikers’ Mission 10,000 km culminates in Chennai

20 bikers riding FZS-FI came in 2 groups
Chennai: Marked by celebrations and cheers, a gruelling journey of 10,000 km on two-wheelers traversing through challenging terrains culminated in the city on Sunday. Yamaha’s ‘Mission 10,000 km’ was flagged off by Bollywood star and Yamaha ambassador John Abraham in New Delhi on September 14 and 20 bikers, riding FZS-FI, headed in two directions in two groups – East Side Eagles and Wild West Falcons - before successfully ending their expedition in the city.
Masaki Asano, managing director of Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd, said the initiative was to encourage safe and congenial bike riding with the theme of ‘Discovering a whole new India’. “It’s been a great journey. I am sure our riders have many stories to share,” he added.The finishing stage of the expedition was organised at YMCA ground and the day witnessed some exciting customer engagement activities such as children safety programme, test drives and service camps.
The company also took the opportunity to introduce its ‘Blue core’ concept in New Stylish Commuter ‘SZ-RR Version 2.0’ – an upgrade to its existing SZ-RR bike launched last year. “The new model targets the age group of 24-35 and the company hopes to see a significant growth in the customer base, especially keeping in mind the mileage conscious riders,” said Asano.
