Visakhapatnam: Two days after Cyclone Hudhud wreaked havoc in the area, woes of Vizagites continued on Tuesday. Though Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that the situation had almost become normal, long queues at petrol pumps, markets and shops for essential commodities continued and no government office was functioning.
Vizag needs eight lakh litres of diesel and four lakh litres of petrol per day. But Owing to damages at the IOCL, BPCL and HPCL terminals, there were distribution problems. Tankers were also unable to move as the roads were choked with fallen trees and other debris.
“There were some problems at filling stations of these three terminals due to the damages and supply was disrupted to an extent,” said president of Vizag Petrol Dealers Association, Mr D. Babji.
