Vizianagaram: Union minister for civil aviation P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju directed the district authorities to restore the emergency services in the city and district as soon as possible.
He came to Vizianagaram by road from Bhubaneswar and conduced a review meeting at collector office at Vizianaga-ram on Tuesday.
He advised the authorities to supply the water to public soon by utilising the services of non-governmental organisations. He told the authorities to provide the power generators to the NGOs who have water purification plants and get the water to supply to the people.
As per the advice of Ashok Gajapathi Raju, the authorities have planned to open milk booths at Rythu Bazaars. All the fishermen will be supplied 25 kgs of rice and one kilo sugar as they have lost their lively hood due to the storm.
Minister for rural development K. Mrunalini directed the authorities to take additional work men to complete the works soon. Apart from this, minister for information and public relation P. Raghunatha Reddy is appointed incharge of the district to look after the rescue operations and restoration works. District collector M.M. Nayak, officer on special duty P.A. Sobha other officials attended.
