Godavari fishermen find refuge on Krishna shore

Fishermen were allotted accommodation in relief centres set up in the two villages
Vijayawada: As many as 400 fishermen from Uppada of East Godavari district, who had ventured into the sea, reached U Kottapalli and Lakshmipuram villages in Krittivennu mandal of Krishna district on Saturday night.
The fishermen, in 100 boats tried to reach their villages, but the heavy sea forced them to alter course. They decided to anchor at the nearest shore before Cyclone Hudhud hit.
The fishermen were allotted accommodation in relief centres set up in the two villages.
About 300 of these fishermen sold the fish they had caught in the Machilipatnam market and went to Uppada by road. The remaining 100 men stayed put in the relief centres to guard their boats.
