Tribal museum on Jodeghat hillock

On the hillock, a guesthouse, park will also be built
Hatti (adilabad): The state government is likely to construct a tribal museum on the top of the Jodeghat hillock where Adivasi legendary leader Komaram Bheem and his 15 associates died fighting with Nizam forces on September1, 1940.The officials concerned who visited Jodeghat identified the hillock suitable for setting up a tribal museum and a memorial will be constructed close to the existing Bheem’s Samadhi and the entire Jodeghat area will be developed as a tourist spot.
Komaram Bheem selected the hill area of Jodeghat to fight with the Nizam forces as the hill is covers them from three sides and it would be easy for the Adivasis to attack the Nizam forces positioning themselves on the top of the hill. The Jodeghat hillock is located close to the village in a strategic location.
Bheem thought it would be difficult for the Nizam forces to reach the Jodeghat hillock withstanding the attacks of the Adivasis who used traditional arrows, bows apart from rolling and dropping boulders from the top of the hillock
District tourism officer V. Ravi Kumar said they will take up construction of a guesthouse and a park with international standards at Jodeghat to attract international tourists and added that tribal welfare department would construct a tribal museum on the hillock.
