Man arrested for making ex’s fake Facebook profile

Hyderabad: A 23-year-old man has been arrested by the Cyberabad Cyber Crime police for creating a fake Facebook account of his former girlfriend. He posted the girl’s phone number on the FB page and invited people to call her.
The accused, Sakkari Rajesh, a real estate employee from Attapur, was allegedly trying to exact revenge on his former girlfriend after she dumped him, ending their three-year relationship.
The victim, a 19-year-old Intermediate student, approached police alleging that several people had been calling her at night and disturbing her. A police official said, “Rakesh told us that he had spent a lot of money to woo the girl. He bore a grudge and decided to exact revenge by creating a fake FB profile with her name and phone number after she dumped him.”
Following an investigating, the police traced the IP address and found that Rakesh had made the fake profile.
Cyber Crime Police officials said that Rakesh was in a relationship with the victim for three years, and they had recently broken up.
“Rakesh told us that the girl used to live in his neighbourhood and that he had spend a lot of money to woo her. After, the break up, he bore a grudge and decided to exact revenge by creating a fake FB id with her name and phone number,” said a police official.
Several people started calling the victim and harassing her. Following an investigation, the police traced the IP address, and found that Rakesh had created the fake account.
