Arkavathy scam: BJP panel to submit report on October 10

The committee collected the required documents on the denotification of land

Bengaluru: The BJP committee headed by former law minister Suresh Kumar will submit a detailed report on the Arkavathy denotification scam to the party state leadership on October 10.

Following charges made by Opposition leader in the Assembly Jagadish Shettar against the Siddaramaiah government for denotifying Arkavathy layout land, the party had constituted the committee led by former ministers Suresh Kumar and V. Somanna to gather details about the scam.

The committee collected the required documents on the denotification of land and also met the allottees and obtained their feedback. During the interaction with Arkavathy allottees, the committee found that land belonging to site owners had been denotified by the Congress government, claimed sources.

The BJP central leadership had suggested to state leaders to take the denotification case to its logical end. However, prominent leaders of the BJP did not show much interest. Reason: More than a dozen BJP leaders have landed in land related corruption charges!
