Inter-state bus services resume

Things began to change suddenly since Monday with shops opening and bus services resuming
Ooty: Normalcy retuned to the hills here and buses began to ply as usual as inter-state transport services resumed Monday morning. While normal life was thrown out of gear in the hills since Saturday afternoon, in the aftermath of the verdict against Ms Jayalalithaa's case in a Bengaluru court, for the past two days, it looked as if it may take some more time for the recovery process.
But things began to change suddenly since Monday early morning with shops opening and bus services resuming. At the inter-state border at Kakkanallah, where for the past two days passengers had to cross the border on foot to exchange buses to continue their journey towards the other destination, flow of traffic resumed as usual as inter-state buses and other vehicles began to cross the border.
While normalcy returned to the hills, it was indeed a big sigh of relief for stakeholders in the travel and tourism industry, as the decline in the inflow of tourists and cancellation of bookings in hotels over the past two days gave them the jitters in the backdrop of puja holidays.
