Srikakulam: Prohibition and excise state-level task force team of officials launched investigation over selling of spurious liquor at licenced shops, bars and restaurants in Srikakulam district.
It may be noted that four days ago, excise officials arrested four persons in a bar and liquor shop at Srikakulam while they were selling spurious liquor by filling it into water bottles.
The liquor is being illegally transported into district from Odisha with the alleged help of excise department officials. The task force will inquire all angles over selling of the liquor which is causing loss of revenue to the exchequer.
Four excise department officials in the district have allegedly colluded with liquor barons in the district and allowing spurious liquor from adjacent Odisha state into licenced shops, bars and restaurants.
