Chief Minister for safer, clean capital

Criminal elements will be stopped, promises Naidu
Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday called upon people of Vijayawada to stand up to rowdies. “The capital city should be peaceful, if we want investors to come here,” he said, cautioning the people that mafia and rowdy elements could gain strength in the city if the people don’t stand up to them. “They may set root by involving themselves in land disputes,” he cautioned.
Mr Naidu said his government would not allow any rowdies and mafia. “Law and order would play a major role in the state’s development, especially in the tourism sector,” he said.
He warned rowdies and land grabbers that the state government would deal strictly against them, adding that crime against women would strictly not be tolerated. Expressing his displeasure over the condition of Vijayawada, the state’s capital, the Chief Minister said that the roads and drains were in a very poor condition.
“This would be chan-ged soon,” he said, add-ing that Hyderabad was earlier in a similar condition. “My government launched specific plans to improve that city. Cyberabad was also established in a short span of time,” he said, asking citizens to cooperate and ensure that Vijayawada is turned into a clean and green city.
“I will also be a resident of Vijayawada in the near future. I want to turn this city into a world-class city,” he said, adding that development of Vijayawada would be easy as it has ample water resources.
