Asain Games: India protest transport, food options

Transportation have not been up to the mark and catering is inadequate
Incheon: The Indian contingent’s concerns over transportation from the Asian Games Village to various venues and the limited food options were on Monday addressed by the Olympic Council of Asia, which gave a “dressing down” to the organising committee officials.
The Indian contingent’s chef de mission Adille Sumariwalla told reporters that there had been a meeting between the OCA and the organising committee on the day, to address the issues that he has been raising since Day One.
“I have raised these issues on a daily basis and finally today OCA gave a dressing down to the organising committee,” said Sumariwalla.
According to Sumariwalla the transportation is not up to the mark and the varieties of food, specially catering to the Indian athletes, 50 per cent of whom are vegetarians, is inadequate. Two days ago the badminton team had to wait for more than 45 minutes to take the bus back to the village as the driver went missing.
