Madhya Pradesh DGP orders probe into allegations of attempted rape

BJP however claimed that person facing accusation had no links with either BJP or RSS

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Director General of Police Nandan Dube has ordered a probe into allegations of attempted rape against an RSS functionary in Anuppur district. The state BJP however claimed that the person facing the accusation had no links with either BJP or the RSS.

A delegation of Congress women leaders led by Deepti Singh, on Saturday, met the DGP and raised the issue of allegations against the RSS worker. Singh alleged that the concerned police station had not filed any report in this regard yet, though it had been

approached many times.

The DGP ordered Shahdol range Inspector General to probe the complaint, spokesperson at the Police Headquarters said. Earlier on Saturday, Congress spokesperson K K Mishra had presented the complainant woman before the media, who claimed that the accused tried to rape her about one and a half months ago and threatened that she would face dire consequences if she disclosed the incident to anyone. Police refused to register her complaint, she said. The state Congress also produced a CD of a video footage to back the complaint.

Meanwhile, BJP spokesperson and MLA Vishwas Sarang termed Mishra's allegations as "concocted and baseless" and claimed that the accused had nothing to do with the RSS or the BJP.
