iPhone 6 torn open: Surprisingly easy to repair too

iPhones prior to the iPhone 6 were a tad difficult to open and repair

iPhone 6, the most hyped product has just been launched and has gone on sale since 19 September. Analysts and critics are all having their hands dirty with the new wanna-have smartphone to find good and bad points that they can highlight about it.

iFixit is a company which tears open every gadget and electronic component known to man. Their main motive is to show the world how to take apart a gadget and then repair them. iFixit states that the process of opening the iPhone 6 and taking apart the parts to replace them is practically simple and compared to earlier models, the process is far simpler.

The teardown of the iPhone reveals massive details of the iPhone 6’s hardware. The iPhone 6 is based on the A8 chipset with 1GB of RAM. The iPhone 6 Plus has a large 2915 mAh battery, while the iPhone 6 has an 1810 mAh battery. The iPhone includes a Qualcomm MDM962M LTS modem with a WTR1625L transceiver for high-speed data connectivity.

iFixit states that the teardown was given a 7 out of 10 points for ease of service. Most iPod and iPad received a 2 or 3 on 10 for serviceability.
