Rude shock for BJP in Rajasthan

Congress walked away with 3 seats in the Assembly bypolls held on September 13

Jaipur: The ruling BJP in Rajasthan received a rude shock as the opposition Congress walked away with three seats in the Assembly bypolls held on September 13.

The Congress which looked down and out after having been routed first in the Assembly polls in December last year followed by complete rout in the Lok Sabha elections held four months ago, made a surprised come back under the leadership of Sachin Pilot. The new president of Rajasthan state Congress attributed the victory to “people’s disenchantment with the arrogance with which the BJP has been running the government and pursuing anti people policies.”

The results dealt a personal blow to CM Vasundhara Raje, as the candidates were handpicked by her.
