Hyderabad: While TRS nominee for Medak Lok Sabha Mr Prabhakar Reddy polled 5,71,810 votes, Ms Laxma Reddy got 2,10,524 and the BJP-TD’s T. Jayaprakash Reddy, who switched over from the Congress at the last minute, stood third polling 1,86, 343 votes.
Mr Chandrasekhar Rao had won the seat by a margin of 3,97,029 votes in April 30 general elections. In the April 30 elections, the total votes polled were 11,80,315, and it came down by 1,45,167 votes to 10,35,148 votes.
Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwarlal declared Mr Prabhakar Reddy elected. All other candidates polled 66,471 votes. The seat fell vacant as Mr Chandrasekhar Rao retained the Gajwel Assembly seat and resigned from the Medak LS seat.
