Mumbai: The music launch of singer Mika’s Balwinder Singh Famous Ho Gaya was held in the presence of the who’s who of B’town. Amitabh Bachchan and the current hot favourite Sunny Leone were to share the dais at the launch. Those present at the event were excited about seeing Amitabh and Sunny together. But, while Amitabh arrived on time Sunny Leone was very late in fact, Bachchan was on his way out. Just when people started leaving, there was a whisper that Sunny had arrived. And the excitement was crazy.
Sources reveal that even though the production house was keen on launching the music in the presence of both Amitabh and Sunny, the plan changed. Rumour is that it was a deliberate ploy. Sources on condition of anonymity, from the production house say Sunny was asked to start her journey only after the music launch was completed by Amitabh Bachchan because the attention Sunny has been drawing is unimaginable and they didn’t want Amitabh to be sidelined. In Tollywood, too, though Sunny has been signed up for just one film so far, she is playing the role of a teacher in Current Theega, starring Manchu Manoj she has a crazy fan following and Telugu filmmakers are keen on signing her up for more.
Says Puri Jagannadh, “She will definitely get more offers from the Telugu industry. On Wednesday, I asked Manoj to show me the song because, as a fan of Sunny, I’m curious to watch her work. In fact, last year RGV and I celebrated Diwali with Sunny Leone in Mumbai.” “The main reason why we decided to cast Sunny in the film is because we believe in her talent and popularity. Current Theega is based on a Tamil film and the role of a teacher, which Sunny has been cast in, required the oomph and glamour quotient that we felt she could do justice to,” says Manchu Vishnu, the producer of the film. The producer maintains that despite the rumours of Sunny’s fee being more than '50 lakh, Sunny charged far less. “I know her husband, Daniel, so for Sunny to be a part of this film was more like a favour,” he says.
