Oil Minister blames Gail for pipeline blast in Andhra Pradesh

Deadly pipeline blast in Andhra Pradesh killed 22 persons in June this year

Rajahmundry: The oil ministry found fault with the gas major Gail for failing to install a gas dehydration unit at the start of the gas pipeline connecting Tati-paka to Kondapalli to help remove water and condensate from wet natural gas in order to prevent corrosion of pipeline leading to leakage of gas and explosion which claimed 22 lives at Nagaram village in East Godavari.

It may be mentioned that the Centre ordered an inquiry by the joint secretary of the oil ministry Rajesh Kumar following the gas pipeline explosion on June 27.
