Sanam Johar seeks a new thrill with dare to dance

During the rehearsals, I broke the little finger on my right hand
Mumbai: Dancer Sanam Johar, who is participating on Dare2Dance, seems to have impressed everyone who’s viewed his performances. “I was working on another show when I got the offer for Dare2Dance, and although I found the format exciting, I had to initially turn it down since the dates were clashing. Luckily, the shoot of D2D was postponed and by that time my other show got over, so I could go ahead,” says Sanam about entering D2D.
The mix of stunts and dancing in D2D is its USP, and Sanam points out, “The tasks are risky. You have a Khatron Ke Khiladi for stunts and other shows for dance. This show has a mix of both. We had a safety team, but it was still scary. For one act we danced with our bodies afire and one of the contestants suffered a burn, although not a serious one. That was daring. During the rehearsals, I broke the little finger on my right hand.”
Sanam only has words of praise for celebrity host Akshay Kumar. “Akshay gave us 15 -20 days to try all kinds of stunts. It’s a competition, and he wanted to be fair to everyone. He introduced us to every task, by trying it out himself first.”
And as for who among his fellow contestants he considered the toughest competition, Sanam says, “Emilie she’s a gymnast and was a body double for Katrina Kaif in Dhoom 3. She is one of the most competitive contestants.”
