Defeat TD-BJP, Congress: Harish Rao

Rao alleged that Jaggareddy went to Sonia Gandhi and pleaded not to grant Telangana state
Hyderabad: Kickstarting the election campaign for the Medak Lok Sabha bypoll in Siddipet on Sunday, major irrigation minister and TRS overall in-charge for the bypoll T. Harish Rao asked the electorate to ensure a landslide victory to TRS and teach BJP-TD and Congress candidates a lesson for their betrayal of the Telangana cause.“BJP-TD has hurt the sentiments of Telangana people ever since they came to power at the Centre. People should teach them a lesson so that the Centre realises its mistakes and rectifies them,” Mr Harish Rao said.
He said AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is still trying to dominate Telangana affairs through the Centre and responsible for the merger of seven Khammam district mandals into Seemandhra. He is also trying to impose curbs on Telangana in matters of law and order especially by giving more powers to Governor which is unconstitutional. Turning his criticism against BJP-TD combine candidate T. Jaggareddy, the TRS leader alleged that Mr Jaggareddy was the same candidate who went to Congress president Sonia Gandhi and pleaded not to grant Telangana state. “Why sho-uld you vote for Jaggare-ddy who is a staunch integrationist and anti-Telangana?” Mr Harish Rao asked.
He also alleged that former minister and Congress candidate Suneetha Laxma Reddy was never bothered about development of Medak district or Siddipet Assembly segment in her 10-year tenure as minister. Mr Harish Rao added that the then Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy had announced in the Assembly that he would not give a penny to Siddipet segment. “Why should you vote for a Congress candidate who did nothing for the people? KCR after beco-ming the Chief Minister has sanctioned hundreds of crores for developmental activities,” added Mr Harish Rao.
