Sharika has been signed to act in Nirayudham alongside Santosh
Kollywood actress Sharika
Hasini, who debuted as a heroine at the age of 14 in a bold, female-centric role and won critical acclaim for her performance, is back after a gap with a new name. After undergoing a complete image makeover, she has rechristened herself as Sharika and offers have started pouring in. She has been roped in for a movie, Nirayudham, which has Santhosh of Kadhal Seiyya Virumbu fame as the male lead. Rajadurai directs the film.
Sharika says, “I play a girl with a modern outlook who works in a call centre; she is fond of Western culture and sports a ‘don’t care’ attitude. On the other hand, her counterpart, Santhosh, who returns to India from America, is just the opposite. He strictly follows Indian culture and traditions. The conflicts that arise out of the duo’s contradicting natures, form the crux of the film. It is a challenging role,” she adds. According to insiders, she had no qualms about wearing skimpy clothes in some song sequences
