Casino Park restaurant employees suffered burn injuries when there room set on fire

Mysore: Six employees of a city based restaurant, all hailing from Nepal, suffered burn injuries when the room they were staying was set on fire, allegedly by a former employee of the same restaurant, at Tilaknagar in Mandi Police station limits here early Thursday. The condition of one of them is said to be critical. The injured have been identified as Dilli Raj alias Raju (24), Ganesh (24), Gajendra (25), Suraj (17), Gorak (23) and Ramesh (20), all natives of Bythodi village of Tedkod district in Nepal. Raju had suffered 90 per cent burn injuries and was critical, while the rest have suffered around 40 per cent burn injuries. Raju was being treated at JSS hospital and the rest have been admitted to KR hospital, police said.

The injured were employed at Casino Park restaurant on Sayyaji Rao Road, here. The blaze occurred when they were sleeping in the room, located on the first floor in Tilaknagar, after work. Ganesh, who rushed out as soon as he saw fire, had seen one Shivu, an ex employee of the restaurant, fleeing after allegedly setting the room on fire. Soon, Ganesh reportedly pulled out all others and with the help of Garuda and 108 Ambulance the injured were shifted, police said.

Earlier, Shivu was reportedly caught trying to steal the mobile phone of an employee they had a fight. Hence based on the complaint from Ganesh, we have registered a case of attempt to murder against Shivu, under section 307 of IPC and we have arrested him. Further investigations were in progress, police said.
