Sriti Jha has no complaints

From playing Ganga on Balika Vadhu, to Pragya on Kumkum Bhagya, Sriti loves both characters
Sriti Jha, who plays the simple Pragya from Kumkum Bhagya, is among the rare telly stars who doesn’t have any complaints about the long working hours the industry entails.
“We actors are fortunate people, getting paid to do what we love — it’s like getting paid to eat cake! There isn’t much to complain about. In fact, on the days I have an off I’m constantly telling my friends how I want to be on the sets, because I miss it already,” she admits.
So what does she do when she has time off? “Reading and watching movies are the only two things I do. I’m moody, so at times I’m annoyingly introverted; at other times I’m annoyingly extroverted. So I think I’m an ambivert!” Sriti says, after some thought.
From playing Ganga on Balika Vadhu, to Pragya on Kumkum Bhagya, Sriti loves both the characters. “I quit Balika Vadhu due to personal reasons but that show contributed to my growth as an actor. Now I love playing Pragya as the character is close to my personality. Just recently, I was telling someone how much I love my own show,” she says.
She’s all praise for her co-star Shabbir Ahluwalia too. “He’s not just a good co-star, he’s definitely one of the most brilliant human beings I have met,” Sriti says.
Sriti has worked in theatre previously, and says that helped her perform on the small screen as well. “I used to do theatre in school and college. When I started working on television,
only the camera was new. Theatre experience really helps one lose inhibitions.” she says.
While she is seen in Indian wear on screen, occasionally Sriti likes wearing dresses too but doesn’t put in extra effort to maintain her figure.
She says, “I spend a lot of time eating and eat a lot! I am comfortable in all kinds of outfits. I prefer Indian wear, but there are days I step out in a short dress. It depends on my mood.”
