Strategy for UP election: 2-day BJP meet in Vrindavan today

Party also trying to evolve an agenda of its own in the state

Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh: The Uttar Pradesh BJP unit is beginning its two-day meet, to decide its election strategy in the state, in Vrindavan, starting on Saturday.

According to reports, the high-level meeting aims at evolving a strategy to defeat Samajwadi Party, headed by Akhilesh Yadav, in the state.

The meet will be addressed by BJP president Amit Shah and union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, state unit spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak said to the media.

However, reports say that Shah will miss the inaugural function of the meet since he will be holding meeting with leaders of four poll-bound states to discuss campaign plans and ticket distribution.

State party president Laxmikant Bajpayi said the party was not only focussed on exposing the Akhilesh Yadav government but was also trying to evolve an agenda of its own.

Political resolutions to expose the "communal bent" of the SP government and other political activity related to reaching out to the grass root level cadres is also likely to be taken up at the state executive, a senior office bearer said.
