Alia Bhatt for Mani Ratnam’s next?

Mumbai: There were recent reports that Mani Ratnam was planning to do a bilingual project with Dulquer Salman, son of Mammootty, and Shruti Haasan was being considered as the female lead. But a source from the director’s production house revealed that a new name has cropped up. Apparently the latest discussions by the casting team have been around Alia Bhatt.

Mani’s production team has just started sending feelers to the actress, who they feel will look good with Dulquer. When contacted, Alia’s manager did not comment on this development, as the actress is already in talks with Karan Johar for his next project and dates could be an issue.
