Around 3000 participants are expected to attend the unique meet being organised by the KSIDC
Kochi: Fabulous cash prizes await young entrepreneurs with striking innovative ideas at the first Young Entrepreneurs Summit (YSE) organised by the government at Adlux International Convention Centre, Karukutty, near Angamaly on September 12. Cash prizes of Rs 1 lakh, Rs 50,000 and Rs 30,000 await the top three winners.
In addition, seven consolation prizes of Rs 25,000 each are also up for grabs. The last date for entries is August 25. Details and format for application can be downloaded from the website www.yeskerala.org. Ideas related to agri tech and food processing, tourism and hospitality, business innovation & green technologies, healthcare and life sciences, manufacturing, IT, electronics and digital media will be considered for the cash awards.
Around 3000 participants are expected to attend the unique meet being organised by the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC). The government has planned the event as a launching pad for young entrepreneurs under its new policy initiative to turn the state into an innovation and startup hub.
"The day-long event is structured in such a way that the participants can avail of all information regarding services and incentives offered by the government to young entrepreneurs. It will have a series of panel discussions and participants can choose the session he or she wants to attend. The registration for the event is free. Around 100 stalls are also up for grabs at the venue and these will be given away on first-come-first served basis," an official of KSIDC, here, said.
The event will be inaugurated by IT and Industry minister P.K. Kunhalikutty while Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will launch KSIDC's venture capital fund for startups at the valedictory session the same evening.
