Titans trample Dabang to bag hat-trick win at home

Telugu Titans scores an emphatic 45-26 victory over Dabang Delhi in Pro Kabaddi League
Visakhapatnam: Continuing their superb run of form, the Telugu Titans registered their third straight victory in the Pro Kabaddi League, scoring an emphatic 45-26 victory over Dabang Delhi at the Port Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Vsakhapatnam on Tuesday.
Amid loud cheers by their supporters, the Titans finished their home leg on a high to be placed fourth on the table with 33 points.
Titans’ top raider Rahul Choudhari once again proved his worth by striking in his very first raid.
Rahul scored 12 points overall while Deepak Niwas Hooda and Sukesh Hegde bagged six and five points respectively to lead their side to a comprehensive victory. It was the Titans’ match from the beginning as Dabang were hard-pressed to find a solution to the rampaging home side’s offence tactics. By the end of the first half, the Titans led 20-12.
Sukesh Hegde continued his side’s dream run in the second half when he executed an acrobatic jump over Delhi’s defence to pull his team further ahead. Delhi’s cup of woes overflowed when Surjeet Narwal gave away a point, stepping into the lobby out of turn. This eventually caused Delhi to be all out for the second time by 23 minutes. Soon, the stadium started reverberating with chants for local heroes Rahul and Deepak to join the fray and they didn’t disappoint.
The duo combined to oust Delhi’s captain Jasmer Singh, their best defender as the visiting team began to fall apart in the face of a furious display. The home side soon increased their lead to 17 points when they ousted Delhi’s prized raiders Kashiling and Surjeet.
Titans’ raids continued to inflict damage on Delhi, who were soon left with only two men in action. Jasmer botched a tackle on Rahul as the home side surged ahead into an unassailable lead. They then closed ranks and played it safe for the last five minutes to pocket an impressive victory.
